Ekornes appoints new CEO
At its meeting on 22nd June, the board of directors of Ekornes ASA has appointed Øyvind Tørlen (39) as group president and CEO.
Øyvind Tørlen has been deputy CEO since June 2007. His initial appointment was part of the preparations for the transition to a new generation of management at the company. Mr Tørlen has a Master's degree in economics and business administration and experience from senior management positions in the aquaculture, financial services and management consulting sectors.
Outgoing CEO Nils-Fredrik Drabløs, who turns 65 this year, has been with Ekornes since 1991, taking over as CEO in 1996. Mr Drabløs will continue to work with development projects at Ekornes in close collaboration with his successor Øyvind Tørlen. The board is extremely pleased that Mr Drabløs will remain with the company.
