The harbour festival in Hamburg is a large event, and a unique chance for Ekornes to promote its products to many people. The result exceeded all expectations: several thousand people visited the Stressless stand on the Norwegian pavilion, and many purchased Stressless chairs and sofas after having tried them.
Hafengeburtstag in Hamburg attracts over a million Germans to Hamburg’s harbour each year. More than 300 ships from across the world sail into the harbour for the occasion. The festival’s history extends back in time over 800 years, and this year a new attendance record was set with 1.5 million participants. This year, Norway was one of the invited guest countries that could promote themselves with their own stands, and Ekornes participated as one of the sponsors. In total, 800,000 people visited the Norwegian area of the harbour during the festival’s three day duration.
